BBC 1XTRA TIKTOK

BBC 1XTRA WERE LAUNCHING THEIR TIKTOK ACCOUNT AND WE WERE CALLED TO HELP BRING IT TO LIFE.

As a part of Forward Slash, BBC 1Xtra were launching their TikTok account in 2022 and we were brought on to ensure success.

We ensured that we created a social strategy that was reflective of the TikTok social etiquette, creative possibilities, algorithms and content styles.

We also created a strong brand tone of voice and positioning that was native to the platform while still being in-line with the wider station ethos.

We also took a huge deep-dive into the 1Xtra archives and curated a clear content plan that highlighted the unbeatable history of the station and the beloved sounds, artists and moments.

my role?

I played a key part in this project across the board. I utilised my research skills, deep cultural knowledge and social media prowess to work with my Senior team on creating a plan for 1Xtra that was platform ready.

As main Social Producer for the account, I oversaw various day-to-day operations of the accounts, including; community management, in-app editing, copywriting and post scheduling.

THE RESULTS?

  • 20,000 followers gained in 3 months

  • Over 800k likes in 3.5 months
